IceQueen’s Plaza is a little gem hidden in the heart of Africa. This cozy restaurant is located in the well-known touristic area of “Senegambia”, on a little sandy road 100 meters off the highway. When entering, you are charmed by the colorful little “Plaza” where one can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the open air. A beautiful wooden bar with high chairs invites you over for a drink and chat with the friendly staff.
If you feel like a challenge, we have chess, checkers and other games available.
On the other side, you will find the veranda where guests are welcome to sit.
The African art on the wall is for sale, to help the local artists promote their work. This room is also suitable for private gatherings.
The managing co-proprietress, Anneke Telkamp, has designed the entire menu with her 30+ years of experience in the culinary world. With influences from African, Middle-Eastern and European cuisines, you will surely find something to tickle your fancy. The wide variety of seafood dishes comes fresh from the Atlantic Ocean. Salads, cold and warm starters, succulent steaks, pork and poultry… you name it! All is to be found on the menu. And last but not least, you will find an African plat du jour, available daily.
The two owners, Peter and Anneke, dine every Thursday night at IceQueens’. Everyone is welcome to join the “Captain’s Table”, where the owners enjoy the evening together with guests of different nationalities. The more people the longer the table. Come and join us!
*During the tourist season, from November until April, we have a special Gambian night with African Drums and Dance group, twice weekly. A Gambian buffet is served and the guests are also free to choose from the À La Carte menu.
